Clean chroot. Needs compiler flags to build. Probably CFLAGS+=" -Wno-error=implicit-function-declaration". Maybe others.

it is not out-of-date, 1.4.5 is the newest release

At least with i3 this is severely broken. Would be nice if you could revert to 1.4.3 or does it work for you like it should?

@wedeluxe the hotkey will work you just have to press it really long (2-3 seconds or so). But I don't see any improvement only more bugs.

WARNING: Do not upgrade to 1.4.5

The new version is almost unusable.

  • Has runtime errors.

  • Pressing the keyboard shortcut (here: Ctrl+Alt+v) shows no effect.

After going back to the version I used before (1.4.3-2) ClipIt works like a charm again. But I lost my complete history due to installing 1.4.5!

You have been warned.

Guys, I'm also experiencing similar problem as @nylocx described at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/clipit/#comment-757280 @Tert0, I have the last version 1.4.5-3 , and fully updated system, yet, it's behaving weird.

inverse commented on 2020-07-23 20:00 (UTC)

@nylocx I've not done anything recently aside keeping the packages upto date.

Building clipi from commit a448dd7 restored the application for me.

nylocx commented on 2020-07-22 14:48 (UTC)

@inverse that is strange for me it starts without a segfault but the erratic behavior is still there.

From you valgrind dump it really looks like something broken in the GDK/X part. Did you install any of those stuff from the aur that you did not rebuild after the last update?

I'm currently also experiencing some odd behavior with CPU usage of Xorg since my last system update. I seems to get triggered by Chromium but than persists even is the browser was closed. I guess there might be some problems deep in the graphics stack… Realy no fun to debug.
