Hello. Error after update.

ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

error downloading sources: clockify-desktop

Though this package is marked obsolete, upstream still has this exact version to download from their website. If that changes anytime soon, pkgbuild will break since the checksums will change. At the moment I check every few days if the new version is available, and will update the package ASAP.

Best regards, Jan

@jan the developer wrote me, that they have released the new version.

@testbird71: The package will get an update as soon as there is an official update available. I will not use code from google drive sites claiming to be owned by a developer to build the package. If those sites are in fact owned by a developer of the tool, it will get an update upstream. At the moment (2020-07-22 06:32:50 UTC) the official package still is version 1.8.8.

Please update the pgkbuild to the newest Version. In this one there is a bug with the google api.

Another update from upstream, I'll push a version bump as soon as possible.

Best regards Jan

@gugutz: Thanks for reporting the issue. Upstream has a bad habbit of not including any version tag in the packages name, so every new download might be a new version, but no one knows before downloading. :(

This was the version bump to 1.8.8, package updated.

For those getting: ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

The sha512sum of the deb package on the PKGBUILD is outdated.

You need to navigate to the package directory (if using yay this will usually be ~/.cache/yay/clockify-desktop), then run:

sha512sum ClockifyDesktop.deb

Copy the sha512sum (only the hash, without the name of the deb package in the end) and replace it in the sha512sums field in PKGBUILD file.

Then run: makepkg

adamv commented on 2019-11-27 03:21 (UTC)

for those getting the validation errors, the shasum is probably out of date. I got around it by downloading the file from https://clockify-resources.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/downloads/Clockify_Setup.deb

Then running: sha256sum /home/user/Downloads/Clockify_Setup.deb

That will output the sha256sum. Then when you install the package, edit the PKGBUILD file and paste in that sum. Currently the sha256sum is:

468b09c2fb6c06876df72cb7b643e9aebb780f0c5f060557f018a9e61c938c22

**NOTE: I got rid of the .install file by creating the link in the package() function.

IF you are updating from 1.5.6-1 to 1.5.6-2 it will fail to install. You must remove the symbolic link first, THEN update. Or, uninstall clockify fully and reinstall.

Yes, this is annoying. Blame debtap.
