The fix suggested by c.gerhorst seemed to work for me.

Thank you for your answer. I don't think so.
Anyway, changing the package section in PCKBUILD into
package(){
cp -a "$srcdir/usr" "$pkgdir"
mv $pkgdir/usr/lib64 $pkgdir/usr/lib
}
solved my problem.

Do you have any other cnijfilter related package installed, or some remnant? In any case, with a careful application of --force to the package, it should install fine.

Package seems to be broken.
Output during installation:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
cnijfilter-common-x86_64: /usr/lib64 exists in filesystem
cnijfilter-common-x86_64: /usr/lib64/cups/backend/cnijnet exists in filesystem
cnijfilter-common-x86_64: /usr/lib64/cups/backend/cnijusb exists in filesystem
cnijfilter-common-x86_64: /usr/lib64/cups/filter/pstocanonij exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Reason: Pacman 4.2 does not allow files in symlinked directories.

Source file timeout.

The resulting package was empty.
I applied this patch to the PKGBUILD (and also for the cnijfilter-mp495-x86_64 package) :

Also, why don't download the RPMs directly from the Canon website? They are included in the following tar :
