For some reason, this does not show up in CUPS as a possible driver. (cnijfilter2, however, does)

sbmomeni commented on 2016-05-09 18:15

@curiouseag: Thanks for noting it. Now, I symlink individual files to keep contents in one place without conflicting with other packages.
@Maxqia, @bokailya: Yes, version 4.10 is available. Based on the code changes, it seems that other cnijfilter packages (>=3.20 versions) are compatible with version 4.10 of the common package.

maxqia commented on 2016-05-09 04:16

Seems like libxml2 is required, it's in a lot of other cnijfiler-based pkgbuilds. Also 4.10 seems to be out. (See here

bokailya commented on 2016-05-06 22:54

@sbmomeni but i can't build cnijfilter-common itself without lib32-libusb and lib32-libxml2
sr/bin/ld: cannot find -lxml2
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:399: recipe for target 'cnijlgmon2' failed

maxqia commented on 2016-05-04 23:02

How does this change anything? What error needs that fix anyway?

curiouseag commented on 2016-05-03 14:51

hey I needed to fix the pkgbuild, you may want to take a look

the problem is, when you symlink other packages can not use the folder. Copy paste and delete instead for 64bit.

sbmomeni commented on 2016-03-24 10:03

@Maxqia: I modified your patch (to fix the link target issue) and then applied it.

sbmomeni commented on 2016-03-24 09:42

Replacing the "ln -s /usr" with "cp -rs ${pkgdir}/usr" creates absolute symbolic links to the "${pkgdir}" location. That is, if you delete the build directory after installing the package, the package will contain dangling links to the "${pkgdir}" instead of the "/usr" folder.

maxqia commented on 2016-03-20 11:44

Found the original cause of my problem, here's a patch to fix it.

sbmomeni commented on 2016-03-11 17:50

Multiple printer drivers depend on this package and some of them do not ship the libs_bin64 folder at all.
Compiling this package with native 64bits libs will break all of them.

maxqia commented on 2016-03-06 07:31

I was getting an error (lpadmin: Bad device-uri scheme "cnijnet".) on my 64-bit machine so I added native 64-bit support. Here's the patch :

1. The lib32-libusb package is a dependency of scangearmp-mpseries-common package which is for the scanning functionality of mpseries devices.
2. The lib32-libxml2 package is a dependency of some of actual mpseries drivers which depend on cnijfilter-common (not a dependency of cnijfilter-common itself). For example, the cnijfilter-mp550 package depends on lib32-libxml2.

craeckie commented on 2015-09-29 17:27

requires lib32-libusb and lib32-libxml2.

@aus4000: cnijfilter-common is now updated to version 4.00.
As it does not introduce breaking changes, MP series which are dependent on version 3.20 should work with version 4.00 too.

aus4000 commented on 2015-07-25 05:36

I actually found while building my package for cnijfilter-mg5500series that it includes a cnijfilter-common package that's newer than this one. Can you take a look and see if yours can be updated to this one?

I also seem to have found this, which seems to be just the IJ common source files like yours:

The PKGBUILD should be updated,
package() {
cd ${pkgdir} $startdir/src/cnijfilter-common-$pkgver-1.i386.rpm
mkdir -p usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}
mv usr/share/doc/cnijfilter-common-$pkgver/* usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}
rm -rf usr/share/doc
chmod -R a+rX usr/

Jristz commented on 2013-05-30 22:55

tomorrow I going to look for i386 problems

rhon commented on 2013-03-30 12:46

Duologic : Ok, to avoid breaking other packages, I will create a new cnijfilter-common

Duologic commented on 2013-03-24 11:02

rhon: Keep in mind that many canon-drivers depend on the 3.00 version, I recommend to create a new AUR package instead of updating this one. Canon is not very consistent in driver updates.

rhon commented on 2013-03-23 20:41

Could you please update this package to 3.8 version using this PKGBUILD :

I need this upgrade to submit cnijfilter-mg5400series which has a dependency on 3.8 version.

Duologic commented on 2012-01-09 13:40

For which printer do you need it, sdonk?

Duologic commented on 2012-01-09 13:00

I'll check it tomorrow. I'm on a bad connection today.

sdonk commented on 2012-01-09 08:56

Package is out to date, current version is 3.50

Teo, I've just submitted cnijfilter-ip4700series and cnijfilter-common320. Please try these and let me know if they work, since I don't have the printer to verify.
Canon drivers successive versions address specific printer models, so version 3.20 will work for some printers including IP4700, but not for most other Canon inkjets. That is the reason why I created cnijfilter-common320, cnijfilter-common270 and the like. cnijfilter-common should not be changed because it would probably break printer drivers that rely on it. It should be renamed to cnijfilter-common300 some time.

cnijfilter-ip4700 requires cnijfilter-common-3.20
