I've switched from cockpit to cockpit-minimal. The name is a little misguiding, because this package is providing everything except what is not required at all or not supported on Arch Linux. And the best is, virtual machines can be managed with this package. The only issue I've found is, cockpit-minimal cannot be used to connect to other systems with cockpit-minimal installed. So for the main machine providing access to the others, I still have to use the normal cockpit package.

I get the following error message when trying to connect to another cockpit machine: "Cockpit is not compatible with the software on the system."
