I've made a request to the codecs64 maintainer to merge both packages.

Need to rename build() to package()

infinitezero commented on 2015-01-02 22:40

I am get the following error when trying to install.

:: Building codecs64 package(s)...
==> ERROR: Missing package() function in /tmp/builds/codecs64/PKGBUILD
:: codecs64 cleaned

lfleischer commented on 2011-10-13 14:42

trontonic: codecs and codecs64 provide completely different versions and a different set of files (they are different packages, in fact), which is why they were originally split. -1 to merging them.

xyproto commented on 2011-10-13 14:08

Feature request: adding if "[ $CARCH == "... to make codecs64 obsolete. See for example.

With this new version, is it already necesary to split in order to have 64 support? I've added x86_64 support and changed libstdc++5 to lib32-libstdc++5 on the PKGBUILD manually and I haven't got any error, I haven't tested in-depth.

Perhaps I'll try to install it with the 64 version of libstdc++5.

smoge commented on 2011-02-04 14:35

Why not x86_64? Is it a mistake or that would not work?

lfleischer commented on 2011-02-04 14:09

* Updated to 20110131.

lfleischer commented on 2010-10-14 01:15

tschertel: Both "" and "" require libstdc++5, check the output of `ldd`.

Anonymous comment on 2010-10-13 17:37

Why does it depends on libstdc++5???

lfleischer commented on 2010-09-18 12:29

bernarcher, samurai: This is a yaourt problem, as I already said before, you might need to force package installation. However, splitting the package is a good idea anyways since they're completely different.

* Split codecs package into codecs and codecs64. All x86_64 users, please switch to codecs64 [1].

Great idea :)

sl1pkn07 commented on 2010-09-17 19:23

please, split in two packages example: "codecs" and "codecs64"

Anonymous comment on 2010-09-17 19:06

As @bernarcher said, yaourt enters an upgrade loop.

bernarcher commented on 2010-09-17 17:06

There is a problem with the PKGBUILD line
[ "$CARCH" = "x86_64" ] && pkgver=20071007

As far as I understand this shall cause loading the proper source package.
But this does not work as intended as redefining pkgver to the old version for x86_64 architecture will cause yaourt to enter an upgrade loop in that it deems the package being old the next time "yaourt -Su --aur" is run.

lfleischer commented on 2010-09-17 06:40

* PKGBUILD cleanup.

* Fixed pkgver for x86_64. x86_64 users using yaourt/clyde/... might need to force package installation.

Dragonlord commented on 2010-08-28 17:23

Missing Maintainer/Contributor lines, please add them to the PKGBUILD.

frb commented on 2010-06-02 17:09

When this pkg was in extra it was called simply "codecs".

Anonymous comment on 2010-06-02 07:39

Maybe it's better to change the name to mplayer-codecs-all or something similar?

frb commented on 2010-03-28 16:46

I didn't see any announcement. I received an "outdate" notification and checking in the mplayer repo I saw a new codecs archive :)
The mplayer repository doesn't works very well, sometimes this new archive is not present sometimes it is, as I said it's a server issue.

lolilolicon commented on 2010-03-28 05:02

Thanks for the update, Babets.
Just curious, is there any announcement for this update? It's not listed in these two urls:

frb commented on 2010-03-26 13:32

Sometimes it fails, try again, it's a server issue.

This is how the pkgbuild should be:
It works well for me for both archs.

frb commented on 2010-03-26 10:20

Due to aur limitations pkgver and pkgver must be unique so I can't make a pkgbuild that doesn't required upgrade for x86_64 arch.

frb commented on 2010-03-26 09:54

Updated; I didn't find an updated codecs package for x86_64 so this update is only for i686.
Anyway the old pkgbuild is here:
