@m040601 Yes, the project seems to be either complete or dead. I guess we’ll see on an API update that makes the API incompatible with the current version.
The “endorsement” stems from this site where it is linked in the “Command line tools” section: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Download_tools
Since this article is in the “Commons” namespace I assume some form of officiality :)

Thanks for the PKGBUILD. The upstream repo, https://git.sr.ht/~nytpu/commons-downloader, hasnt been updated in two years. But the script seems to still be working.
Can you please explain why did you choose this title for "Description" ? Who has "officially endorsed" ?
My suggestion for a better title that helps AUR users find it,
