Following up on my previous comment. I had the same issue with the https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/aws-session-manager-plugin and the discussion there said that this can happen when someone changes the package and republishes it without bumping the version. See the comments there.
That being said, this solves the validity check and I can install the latest updates now. For what it's worth I am using
yay
