@neeshy Thanks for the explanation. I've read that in the future it should be possible to opt-in for
TIOCSTI
at runtime using sysctlhttps://bugs.archlinux.org/task/77745

Looks like
TIOCSTI
(the ioctl conspy uses to send fake input into the given tty device) has been deprecated. Supposedly you can still re-enable it using/proc/sys/dev/tty/legacy_tiocsti
, but I haven't figured out what inputs it accepts (it uses theproc_dobool
sysctl handler in the kernel if you wanna follow that rabbit hole). It's failing with "Invalid argument" no matter what I write to it.Other than that, you can try re-compiling the kernel with
CONFIG_LEGACY_TIOCSTI
explicitly set.https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20221022182828.give.717-kees@kernel.org/

After the last system upgrade [ linux (6.1.12.arch1-1 -> 6.2.1.arch1-1) ], as soon as I type any character after
sudo conspy 1
has given me the console, it quits with "/dev/tty1: Input/output error." message.Elrondo46 commented on 2018-08-02 20:23 (UTC)
