@FabioLolix: please add noto-fonts-emoji as optional dependency, not as dependency. you can also add emojione-fonts as optional dependency for color emoji font.

The gspell dependency is missing.

Please update PKGBUILD following:

What about using this git describe in PKGVER ?

git describe --long | sed 's/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g'

I got this "name" which is cleaner to undestand than rXXXXX : 1.1.r385.g87b8809-1

Can you add corebird to the conflicts list.

marcio commented on 2015-03-15 15:54

I have had problemas with corebird crashing at start, so i solve it using the package rest-git instead of the arch stable one (version rest 0.7.92-1).

mjob commented on 2014-11-13 10:04

I needed to install "libtool" to build this. Maybe add this to the build-dependencies

mjob commented on 2014-11-12 22:30

Maybe add ttf-symbola as recommended dependency for emoji support? Thanks

manuel commented on 2014-04-21 14:57

I also tried by removing any previous file to no avail.

However i can get it to work if i do: 1) run as normally, so that the complete source is checked out from the repo, then 2) comment out the "source" from the PKGBUILD, run "" from src/corebird manually and run "makepkg" with the no-source PKGBUILD.

..still trying to figure out why

baedert commented on 2014-04-21 14:16

manuel: hm, I can't reproduce this. Can you try it with a fresh version (i.e. remove all previous files, I don't know how pacaur handles stuff like that)?

manuel commented on 2014-04-21 10:55

For some reason i get the following:

Making all in src
make[1]: Entering directory '/tmp/pacaurtmp-manuel/corebird-git/src/corebird/src'
/usr/sbin/glib-compile-resources ../resources.xml --target=resources.c --generate-source --sourcedir=../
VALAC libcorebird_la_vala.stamp
VALAC corebird_vala.stamp
error: corebird.vapi not found
Compilation failed: 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)

The funny thing is that i can compile it manually by following the PKGBUILD instructions, but it won't work with makepkg o_O

baedert commented on 2014-04-21 08:49

Oh, that was quick. Should work now, thanks.

wenLiangcan commented on 2014-04-21 07:48

version 2125+g81c0e95-1 failed to start, here's the message from the terminal:

(process:31031): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.baedert.corebird' is not installed

[1] 31031 trace trap (core dumped) corebird

baedert commented on 2014-02-03 17:10

sinisterstuf: That does indeed sound weird and I don't know why that could happen right now. You could join the irc channel so we can have a more instant discussion -- or try to run it in gdb, but if it really just returns 0 the backtrace won't help much.

sinisterstuf commented on 2014-02-03 13:34

Hi, I just installed corebird and it doesn't seem to work at all. Running the executable from the terminal immediately returns 0 with no output. It doesn't seem to start up or do anything at all. Please let me know if there's something I can do to provide any helpful information.

sysfu commented on 2013-10-25 23:13

@baedert I tried again today and it worked. Before it seemed that corebird was not popping open a browser w/the twitter authorize page.

WhyNotHugo commented on 2013-10-25 07:00

Why is it using it's own window decoration? That just looses consistency with the rest of the desktop. Is the default one not working or something?

WhyNotHugo commented on 2013-10-25 06:59

But I'm seeing no window decorations at all. Any other window has a few px wide shadow. This one has no border, no shadow, nothing at all.

baedert commented on 2013-10-20 11:53

srf21c: Two users reported that already and just trying it later fixed it for them, I cannot reproduce it so I have no idea.

hobarrera: It uses its own window decoration.

WhyNotHugo commented on 2013-10-20 10:08

For some reason, corebird's window doesn't get decorated by my window decorator. Is anyone else having this issue?

sysfu commented on 2013-10-19 21:35

Trying to add an account over the past few days and keep getting an error: "Unauthorized. Most of the time, this means that there's something wrong with the Twitter servers and you should try again later". Anyone else having this issue?

baedert commented on 2013-10-12 18:19

Much better, thanks grawity.

grawity commented on 2013-10-12 00:51

PKGBUILD update to conform with pacman 4.1 standards:

(Yes, PKGBUILD-git.proto is out of date.)

baedert commented on 2013-10-11 21:31

mariusn: Thanks for reporting, I just pushed a fix. And also thanks for your kind works, I'm currently occupied with another feature but tray mode is something I have been experimenting with from the very beginning.

mariusn commented on 2013-10-11 19:57

You're the man! Keep up the very good work! :D Tray icon support and it's the perfect Twitter app :D You have no idea how long I was waiting for such an good app. Thank you!

Oh, please modify the corebird.install file by replacing existing code with the following:

post_install() {
/usr/bin/glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
gtk-update-icon-cache -q -t -f usr/share/icons/hicolor
update-desktop-database -q

post_upgrade() {

post_remove() {

Otherwise the app has no icon ;)
