Users having problems compiling corebird after the harfbuzz 1.4.1 update (like @7etc), please remove infinality-bundle libs from your system (I had them, but just figured out they were outdated). You can read everything in here: https://gist.github.com/cryzed/e002e7057435f02cc7894b9e748c5671

Does anyone else have issues with corebird recently? I am using it under KDE Plasma 5 and for the last couple weeks it takes up to 30 seconds until it launches. I tried rebuilding it but to no avail.

Missing icon in v1.5

forlorn commented on 2017-02-11 21:15

Yes, I saw it. It must be an error in the build system.

@forlorn
It is supposed to be: https://github.com/baedert/corebird/blob/master/po/de.po#L77-L81

Unfortunately the bug is not fixed as @holunder wrote already.

r3pek commented on 2017-02-11 17:24

@holunder
that error was fixed already

holunder commented on 2017-02-11 17:16

I can confirm @forlorn's finding:

In the .desktop file /usr/share/applications/org.baedert.corebird.desktop is an error that stops showing the correct icon for corebird:

Icon[de]=Corebird
should be
Icon[de]=corebird

This error only shows when you are using German locales.

@TingPing: I added these manually using the file associations menu: http://i.imgur.com/ezs3C0p.png and it now seems to have automatically recognized "x-scheme-handler/http[s]" types as valid, they are even displayed for the Firefox desktop file. Opening links now also works in Corebird without having gvfs installed. Thank you for your patience :), learned something new today.

Yes, exo-open, kde-open, and xdg-open do *NOT* follow the desktop specification correctly. To my knowledge gio is the only fully compliant implementation.

@TingPing So I removed the customized desktop file from ~/.local/share/applications/firefox.desktop, refreshed the KDE menu with its integrated editor and opened up the default Firefox desktop file using it: http://i.imgur.com/F0W7pun.png.

Correct me if I'm wrong, however it almost seems like KDE is handling the MimeType incorrectly? It's missing the x-scheme-handler entries?
