@warp4ever Well you obviously edited your comment after I fixed the package. And one comment saying the checksums are broken is enough, 2 comments is spam.

@eclairevoyant: Spam? By offering a (temp) solution?

eclairevoyant commented on 2023-08-14 18:41 (UTC)

@warp4ever no need for spam, one comment is enough.

AUR installed package was 0.10.0-2

Error is same as @ricardosimoes

SOLVED by copying the sha256sums from https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=cover-thumbnailer into the pamac build file

Error python.pillow 10.0.0-2: module 'PIL.Image' has no attribute 'ANTIALIAS'

Find ANTIALIAS in /usr/bin/cover-thumbnailer, and change this to LANCZOS

clean chroot build fails:

==> ERROR: makedepends is not allowed to be empty.
==> ERROR: Could not download sources.

Not sure I agree with make(chroot)pkg's policy on this (I can imagine some packages have no makedepends()), but it wants something in that array.

EDIT again: Indeed, not specifying makedepends() at all is the thing to do (delete PKGBUILD line 15).

gettext is in the base-devel group, it's not necessary to include it.

@dominicm Is very simple, as long as there is no release, a git repository is a constantly developing repository and you have to make a git payout of it. (AUR and common sense standards) It is very simple to release a release. Release version 8.4.0 and update this package to that release. https://github.com/flozz/cover-thumbnailer/releases https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Basics-Tagging

@ValHue Not sure what the distinction between stable in this case is since the old release was broken and the new only fixed the bugs. I don't think there will be new releases any time soon if at all. I any case I will use the git version for now, it's working with no issues.
