What happened to this project? It fails to build:

Anyone knows what happened to this project? Gentoo and other distros deprecated it. Is it safe to use it? Any alternative?

I found some patches, not sure if yours have it or necessary. Some are for old versions, so probably no necessary.;a=blob_plain;f=cpufreqd-battery.patch

Their git doesn't work too...

configure: error: You need libcpupower from cpupower to build cpufreqd

I have in my system:
