Please, change the first install from this: install -p -Dm755 "$srcdir/bin/cpustat" "$pkgdir/usr/sbin" To this: install -p -Dm755 "$srcdir/bin/cpustat" "$pkgdir/usr/sbin/cpustat" Currently, you're trying to override /usr/sbin
