Whenever I try to run this through makepkg -si it returns multiple "ignored return value" warnings and an ASCII decoding error ("UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc2 in position 1316: ordinal not in range(128)").

Crispy Doom no longer includes Heretic, Hexen, or Strife. The upstream developer does not care about these games, but will not mind restoring them if someone else takes up the responsibility for maintenance.

automake is part of the base-devel group, and unnecessary for inclusion in AUR packages. Please install the base-devel group or you'll have issues building much from AUR.
