Before someone makes a move to purge this from the AUR, I'd like to explain what it is for: cinnamon-settings-daemon continued to set the X11 background correctly when GNOME abandoned it for Wayland years before it could have any practical use.

What GNOME did, for everyone still using compiz with gsd, was break the "transparent cube" effect, covering it with opaque black sides.

I don't know if newer versions of this daemon still support it, but 6.0.0 did, and no updates were ever really needed for this feature (unless it no longer compiles).
