figured I'd give better info .. ==> Validating source files with sha256sums... dbeaver-ee.desktop ... Passed dbeaver-ee.install ... Passed ==> Validating source_x86_64 files with sha256sums... dbeaver-ee-3.6.7-linux.gtk.x86_64.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build dbeaver-ee. ==> Restart building dbeaver-ee ? [y/N] ==> ----------------------------------- ==> looks like sum in the PKGBUILD doesn't match what it is finding. When I downloaded it manually from the same location and did the sha256sum, I got: 6df54b8c04c74a775f946358feadaf72310779d7cc8d27a30dc1b47f309d7e63 which definitely does not match what is in the PKGBUILD for the x86_64 version: sha256sums_x86_64=('a8075f70604a377781568a489c9639174dc210998eca28efb20767cd98426d62') I edited the PKGBUILD during install accordingly and it worked fine.
