My own website, and no, you shouldn't trust it :) That's why I mentioned that the MD5 checksum is unchanged.

I don't suggest changing the source in the PKGBUILD, I only put the tarball here for convenience while upstream fixes its website. The tarball is findable elsewhere on the Internet.

SanskritFritz commented on 2016-01-03 18:50

What kind of website is that? Can we trust it?

zorun commented on 2016-01-03 16:06

The official website does not work (broken DNS), so downloading the game fails. I've put a tarball here (same MD5):

Episode 2 was released.

Chris_tian thank you for this idea. Package updated.

c-mauderer commented on 2013-06-21 15:48

I got the same error. To fix it, you can use alsa-oss to run it with alsa. To do that, you simply have to add another script like the but with all "padsp" replaced by "aoss".

SanskritFritz commented on 2013-04-24 04:40

I get the same on 64 bit. Would you report this upstream please? The program must be recompiled I think.

MCMic commented on 2013-04-23 15:26

I'm getting this error:
open /dev/[sound/]dsp: No such file or directory
WARNING: Sound actuator "act1" from object "Plane.053" failed to load sample.

I'll try to contact the author.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-10 11:13

Update, just modified the desktop file to be shown correctly in Gnome, KDE etc menus.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-08 16:49

Done, I can only test 64 bit, sorry.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-08 16:43

Ok, I'll include !strip, should not hurt.

cleanrock commented on 2011-10-08 16:01

I got a similar problem:
/usr/bin/strip:./opt/dead-cyborg-episode1/data/lib64/libpng14.a(libpng14_la-pngpread.o): Unable to recognise the format of file: File format not recognized
/usr/bin/strip:./opt/dead-cyborg-episode1/data/lib64/ File format not recognized

Perhaps because i am on 32-bit.

Also using options=(!strip).

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-07 12:59

Hmm, interesting you are the only one getting this. Have you changed anything in /etc/makepkg.conf ?

honestleaf commented on 2011-10-07 12:37

On my computer, I get such error

/usr/bin/strip:./opt/dead-cyborg-episode1/data/blenderplayer-x86_64: File format not recognized

Adding "options=(!strip)" to PKGBUILD solve the problem.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-05 14:25

Can you guys test it, my wife reported, that Dead Cyborg does not appear in her KDE menu. Kupfer finds it without problem.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-04 22:33

Enjoy :)

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-04 15:47

Thought so :) The way I described this in my previous post should cover your needs. Just give me couple of days until I implement it.

Anonymous comment on 2011-10-04 15:37

Sorry, you're right. My bad. I meant the other script in the downloaded package with the name of But this was just a proposal. :)

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-04 15:24

Your other script? What do you mean?
I'm aware of the other starter scripts, but I dont want to pollute the /usr/share/applications folder with many files. Maybe I'll provide a more dynamic way to install one desktop file based on user choice.

Anonymous comment on 2011-10-04 15:19

Nice PKGBUILD. But for that users who still have pulseaudio installed as default (for example Gnome 3 users) you maybe should provide my other script as a desktop icon too. ;) Maybe. :D

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-03 20:56

Updated to version 002. Not bad, now with mouse :)
Desktop file added, the game should now appear in Gnome and KDE menus under the games category.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-03 10:50

I will do that.
The skull looks good, so expect .desktop files with the skull icon in the next version, coming later, when I get home.

matthiaskrgr commented on 2011-10-03 10:37

Hmm, can you add a script /use/bin/dead_cyborg_episode1
which does

cd /opt/dead-cyborg-episode1/

Regarding the icon, I think the skull-thing of can easily extracted using gimp.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-03 10:27

Guys and girls, if you find some good icons for the game, feel free to share them, and I'll create some .desktop files.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-03 10:26

Matthias, you have to do
cd /opt/dead-cyborg-episode1/

matthiaskrgr commented on 2011-10-03 09:15

How do I start it?

I tried to this way :

matthiaskrgr commented on 2011-10-03 09:11

Mmh, I think the executable files should not be named "start-game" but "dead-cyborg(-episode1)"?

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-10-03 08:50

Thanks for the heads up. There is a new 002 version available as well with mouse and azerty support, I'll upgrade the package tonight after some testing.

Athaba commented on 2011-10-03 08:35

The source URI changed.

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-09-27 14:00

TODO: some *.desktop files when I find some nice icons for the game.
