as there are frequent updates that often include critical bugfixes is there any way to somehow include it in the PKGBUILD to always download the latest version?

otherwise i can offer my help updating the package whenever a new version comes out.

when asked for credentials when you want to download decent sampler from the website, you can put in anything. the email address just has to be in the form of any email address, it does not have to be a valid one.

another option is to click on the link beneath 'older versions can be found here', this also includes the current version. for linux it will take you here.

maybe it's an option to grab the file automated from there and include it in the installer?

unlike a lot of other pkgbuilds this pkgbuild does not download the .tar.gz package is it is hidden behind a email download. so to get the required package you first have to go to the website in the url tag, select the linux version, the fill in your information(to get the file you do NOT need to select "please add me to the decent samples mailing list"). after filling it in you should get a download pop-up, after that take the file from your downloads folder and place it in the decent-sampler-bin folder for the aur-helper you are using. this will allow you to build the package.
