Oh maybe because it's a make dependency and not a package dependency.

I don't know why it doesn't install it automatically... Just install vala0.52 manually, then.

If I remove vala0.54, and try building, it gives error: "- unable to satisfy dependency 'vala0.52' required by dee"

Yes, you need to remove vala so that it installs vala0.52 instead.

Build is breaking for me and mentioning vala dependency. Thing is, vala is at 0.54 when I checked today, and not 0.52.

I fixed the version of vala to 0.52: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vala0.52/

Same for me. This package doesn't build with the exact same error.
