@antipersistent I have tried on three independent Arch-based machines, I cannot reproduce your problem and I can install the package successfully.

I get the following error on makepkg. I don't know why. I am able to download the package from the link though.

Thanks for reporting, now the package installs to /usr/bin/devour.

Packages should never be installed to /usr/local/

Please install to /usr/bin/devour instead.
