Using the --no-sandbox does work. What changed?

parkerlreed commented on 2019-04-05 21:55

Doesn't run with the latest libc++ 8

[parker@stealth ~]$ discord-canary
[23155:0405/175453.624392:FATAL:zygote_host_impl_linux.cc(116)] No usable sandbox! Update your kernel or see https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/docs/linux_suid_sandbox_development.md for more information on developing with the SUID sandbox. If you want to live dangerously and need an immediate workaround, you can try using --no-sandbox.

Anybody else tested the 0.73 release?

Disabling noise cancellation does allow the mic to work, but it also makes the quality exceedingly bad, so... browser Discord it is.

This has even been pushed to Stable and occurred in the previous Canary for me.

I received an email notification regarding two comments on this package about the latest update breaking microphone input, this has already been reported to the somewhat uninterested moderators of the discord-linux channel which is their preferred method of bug reporting.

In the meantime there are 3rd party substitutes for a linux discord client available at the AUR such as ripcord, but I cannot recommend using it due to security concerns but the discord web client is very capable until this bug is fixed.

ldd doesn't seem to include it though. Maybe take it up with chris.

Where did you find the list of dependencies? Are you sure gconf is needed? I removed it and found nothing broke for me. Removal of gconf will make python2 unnecessary which is quite nice.
