Currently upstream can't support cgroupv2, and I don't have that much time to patch the codebase to support cgroup v2 and fix those php7 issues. (Although it should work if you enable cgroup v1 back). I will wait for better upstream support or someone can take over the maintainer if they want.

The latest version on compiling gives error on installing the package. domjudge: /var/run exists in filesystem

This still needs some testing, but should be getting closer to working "updated" version.
