The login doesnt work despite using the right ssh key.

Consider using https://github.com/dracut-crypt-ssh/dracut-crypt-ssh/pull/86 or create a patch.

This module can not work because dropbear needs /etc/shells which is not created by dracut. The dracut-crypt-ssh maintainer did not provide a solution. The suggested PR worked for me.
