@fenugrec I've taken your repo diff and used a patch file against the original sourceforge source, I hope this is a more suitable approach based on your concerns. I've also sent a minor pull request to your repo that fixes the font issue I was referring to, I guess you didn't experience it since I think you prefer the .ps output (I do too)

hm, well since my fork is not official and I don't plan on making formal releases, perhaps the best would be to create a drawtiming-git package that can just point to my repo ?

As for the font issue, that's strange that it would work only with .ps output. Did it work with your IM6 build ? Not that I think I can help much, but it could narrow down the issue

@fenugrec nice work! I've compiled and tested your fork but having issues with the --font selector. no matter what font I pick it defaults to some awful serif font I don't recognise.

I quickly tried changing line below selecting a few different IM7 registered fonts to no avail

File:timing.cc:40 -> std::string timing::vFont = "Helvetica"

also if you could please tag a release on the repo I can replace this version with your fork so folks don't have to deal with compiling imagemagick6. Appreciate the help mate

edit: seems that line changes the '.ps' output correctly

I tested my fork and it does render the samples properly, and uses IM7 instead of IM6. I also just un-broke the --without-magick build that only supports .ps output. @envolution did you get my email ?
