I've been running dwm for like, 10 years?, in raspberry pis and chromebooks.

Only now noticed

arch=('i686' 'x86_64')

Please change it to

arch=('i686' 'x86_64' 'arm' 'armv7h' 'armv6h' 'aarch64')

Thanks in advance.

dwm-git:
Depends On : libx11 libxinerama libxft
dwm:
Depends On : libx11 libxinerama libxft freetype2 st dmenu

Quick question, why the difference ?

I'm not 100% sure, and can't find it browsing the dwm site. Is dwm really still ("officially") dependent on "st" and "dmenu" ? Or is just a "Depends On" tag that needs to be corrected, either in "dwm" or "dwm-git" ?

PS: Tip, there is now an official Arch package called "bemenu" that works BOTH on the console and X/Wayland. Very nice alternative to dmenu.

@thiagowfx Done!, Sorry for taking some time in doing so.

This package does not need to provide nor conflict dwm-git

+1 - dwm-git package should provide and conflict with dwm, but dwm does not need to (and should not) provide dwm-git.

ERROR: You do not have write permission for the directory $BUILDDIR (/tmp/pamac-build/st)

Haha sorry I was compiling st. But now xorgproto seems to be a dependency of libx11 anyway so it works.

Just re-read your error message. There is no x.c in dwm, and I can compile it just fine even after updating. Is your error message for another package?

phillid commented on 2019-12-21 22:08 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like Arch has stopped packaging legacy headers in xorgproto. I'll have a look into a solution dwm-side
