@medmedin I encourage you to create your own package for the initials using https://github.com/georgd/EB-Garamond-Initials/. Small capitals are already included as OpenType feature smcp.

Besides, Georg Duffner is working on merging the two versions. When that is done, this package will switch to Duffner's repo.

@kromsam This package is not a duplication of the removed otf-eb-garamond.

This package doesn't contain initials neither small capitals neither true variation 8pt and 12pt sizes.

In addition to the changes @Ordoviz sent in via patch just now, the source array also needs to be changed to use a fixed SHA commit instead of 'master'. This will also change the directory you need to CD into, but it will stop the package from breaking every time a new commit is pushed upstream. That or this package should be renamed -git because as it stands this is a VCS package, not a fixed ver

This package installs the newest version of EB Garamond, which includes the bold faces contributed by Octavio Pardo. The older package otf-eb-garamond package was merged into this on 29 July 2024.

Thanks for packaging! Can you apply this patch? The description should contain the word “font” for easier searching and should not be self-referencing. OFL is treated as a common license “for the sake of the license array”. The dependencies and install functions are not needed anymore. I also simplified the installation.

Do not forget to makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO.

@caleb https://bitbucket.org/georgd/eb-garamond and https://github.com/georgd/EB-Garamond are mirrors of each other (see bottom of README). 15 commits got pushed since the last release on 2014-04-07. Are these changes worth adding makedepends? If you think so, create a otf-eb-garamond-git package.

The download for this is obsolete, according to the upstream URL it seems to have moved from Bitbucket to Github here: https://github.com/georgd/EB-Garamond. You'll have to actually build the OTF from the font sources, which will need some makedepends. Can you please update this (or add me as a co-maintainer and I'll fix it up). Thanks.

Please remove all the dependencies from this package, one is completely removed and the other doesn't need to be a dependency. As documented in the Wiki most font packages should have no dependencies at all. Thanks.
