What I meant is, that this seems to be pacman related and not a problem with my PKGBUILD. I will investigate this further, when I have the time.

As far as I can tell all file conflicts seem to be symbolic links. Pacman has sometimes problems with them. It might be best to remove the old version of elementary-xfce-icons-git and then install the new one.

I can build but not install the package. I get lots of messages like this:
Error: Could not proceed (conflicing files)
elementary-xfce-icons-git: /usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce/actions/16/add.svg exists in filesystem
elementary-xfce-icons-git: /usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce/actions/16/application-exit.svg exists in filesystem

I only update the pkgver, if a change in packaging needs to be performed. The rebuild due to a new major version needs to be manually induced by the user or automated with a AUR helper (e.g pacaur --devel).
This PKGBUILD will always fetch the latest commit.
