Orphaning. I'm not using this any more and upstream looks abandoned. Last update was 6 years ago. In addition, the dependency python2-gobject is missing.

Also, python 2 is end-of-life although there is a pull request to fix this. However, there a bunch of other problems anyway, so I recommend using emote instead.

Thanks for that @Ataraxy. Unfortunately there have been no updates upstream in four years, so I'm not hopeful that there will be any improvements.

I tried editing PKGBUILD to replace python 2 with python 3, but it needs a python code edit to work.

I raised the issue that python 2 is now defunct upstream: https://github.com/gentakojima/emojione-picker-ubuntu/issues/47

@kirk I see you've posted on upstream's bug page, which is what I would have recommended. FWIW it works fine for me with KDE Plasma.

I have installed this package successfully and everything seems to be working fine. The dropdown menu the search, except one thing no matter whatever emoji I click it doesn't copy it to my clipboard. This is driving me fucking nuts. Am I missing something?

Done. Thank you for the advice, archero.

I try to use in Plasma desktop with this error: [~] → emojione-picker Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/emojione-picker", line 22, in <module> require_version('AppIndicator3', '0.1') File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/gi/__init__.py", line 118, in require_version raise ValueError('Namespace %s not available' % namespace) ValueError: Namespace AppIndicator3 not available Please, add libappindicator-gtk3 dependency to PKGBUILD.

Thanks Neros. I've updated the dependencies; hopefully it works now. Please let me know if it fixes it.

I have this error: ``` Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/emojione-picker", line 21, in <module> from gi import require_version ImportError: No module named gi ``` Maybe a dependence is missing.
