well, with slim I don't have the problem. so it must be related in any way. I don't care using the whole path for the few programs in /sbin, but I can't run any java software. I'll open a thread in the forum.

But... Slim is an abbandoned project (as far as i know), and every other display managers use /usr/sbin, why you need /sbin ?

The java runtime package in the official repos work out of the box... I don't understand the issue :S
