Please update the package to depend on epson-inkjet-printer-filter, which gives the benefit of installing the filter (and the watermark files) once to a proper system-wide location and then installing just the libraries and data for the specific model drivers. This saves space, build time, and adheres more to the Arch packaging guidelines.

You have two options:

  1. Copy the PKGBUILD from one of my packages, such as epson-inkjet-printer-201207w, and modify only the model, description, and source URL.

  2. Make me a co-maintainer, and I can implement the changes myself.

I have already applied this update to ~118 packages and have received positive feedback regarding their functionality.

I will try to adopt this, but would appreciate if anyone can tell me what "ESC/P" and "ESC/P-R" even means.

I have automake but install automake-1.11 and respond this ssing: línea 52: automake-1.11: orden no encontrada WARNING: automake-1.11' is missing on your system. You should only need it if you modifiedMakefile.am', acinclude.m4' orconfigure.ac'. You might want to install the Automake' andPerl' packages. Grab them from any GNU archive site.

My XP-211 printer is now up and running with this. For the Wifi network scanning part, I needed to manually configure the IP in the scanning subsystem conf. (follow factory PDF as a guideline). Skanlite works better than the OEM software.
