@ferraribr, right, I forgot the filter is now provided by a separate package. Could you please also check whether everything works while you are at it?

ferraribr commented on 2025-02-04 11:43 (UTC)

I had the /usr/lib/cups/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter removed just by uninstalling the old epson-inkjet-printer-201401w. Installing the new epson-inkjet-printer-201401w then solved the problem of the new epson-inkjet-printer-filter dependency. Thanks anyway!

@ferraribr, the conflict occurs because you manually moved/symlinked the file there. To fix this, please remove every file you have moved on your own:

$ yay -R epson-inkjet-printer-201401w
# rm /usr/lib/cups/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter
$ yay -S epson-inkjet-printer-201401w

I'm getting this error:

conflicting files: - epson-inkjet-printer-filter: /usr/lib/cups/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter already exists in the file system (controlled by epson-inkjet-printer-201401w)

@linkmoises, thank you for the quick response. I have updated the package, please test how well it works.

Hi vitaliikuzhdin,

Thanks for the suggestion and for offering to help with the update. I’ve added you as a co-maintainer, so feel free to make the changes when you’re ready. Let me know if you need anything else from me.

Appreciate your help!

Please update the package to depend on epson-inkjet-printer-filter, which gives the benefit of installing the filter (and the watermark files) once to a proper system-wide location and then installing just the libraries and data for the specific model drivers. This saves space, build time, and adheres more to the Arch packaging guidelines.

You have two options:

  1. Copy the PKGBUILD from one of my packages, such as epson-inkjet-printer-201207w, and modify only the model, description, and source URL.

  2. Make me a co-maintainer, and I can implement the changes myself.

I have already applied this update to ~117 packages and have received positive feedback regarding their functionality.

Sorry for the delay, guys. I've updated the package to the latest version, but I haven't tested if it works on i686.

outdated since 03-2024, maintainer hasn't been active 2023, can someone else maintain? or contact the maintainer?

Gentlemen developers, 'libtool automake' packages are missing from makedepends.
