I switched to gnome-epub-thumbnailer because I'm dropping python-pillow from my systems and trying to limit the number of python libs installed.
I'll continue to maintain the packaging here but if anyone wants to step up and adopt the package then please let me know by posting here or via email and I'll disown the package.

@maxigaz remove the cached git source at .cache/yay/epub-thumbnailer-git/epub-thumbnailer. And that's yay's fault for not handling source changes correctly.

When I try installing this package, I receive the following error:

==> ERROR: /home/maxigaz/.cache/yay/epub-thumbnailer-git/epub-thumbnailer is not a clone of https://github.com/marianosimone/epub-thumbnailer.git
    Aborting...

In the PKGBUILD, removing epub-thumbnailer:: from the beginning of the source field fixed it.

@eNV25 thanks for reporting the source url issue, and sorry for that. Since I adopted the package, I made zero changes to it, and that was one of the packaging issues here. The second issue was a wrong pkgver, and that forced me to set an epoch number.
I'm now using gnome-epub-thumbnailer which also supports mobi, so I'm not using this package anymore or testing it.

Can you replace git:// with git+https:// ? Thanks.

@Ebyd Sorry, I don't use Thunar or any widget toolkit based file manager but it supposes to work according to this.
You can also try gnome-epub-thumbnailer which is basically doing the same thing with the benefit that it's dynamically linked.

Does this support only gnome? I am using standalone Awesome WM with thunar as my file manager but doesn't seem to work.

Thanks!

I've disowned the package, you can take it over.

Thanks :)

Thank you for the update. I don't mind adopting the package.
