If you are getting the classic "libGL error: unable to load driver" with etqw, do what you do with Steam and delete libgcc_s.so.1 and libstdc++.so.6 from the /opt/etqw directory so SDL uses the native libraries and it should work (it at least does for me).

few more sources. http://ftp.uwsg.indiana.edu/linux/gentoo/distfiles/ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run http://www.fileprophets.com/planetquakewars/Linuxclient//ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run" http://ftp.jeuxlinux.fr/files/ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run" more listed here > http://www.filewatcher.com/_/?q=ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run (tested about 20% of them, most of them are gentoo mirrors) --- Also, add optional for steam's version for data files.

I updated the PKGBUILD with a working mirror.

I had a problem installing this, it said the md5sum check failed. I'm guessing the URL for ETQW-client-1.5-linux.x86.run broke?

Slash commented on 2012-09-11 18:05 (UTC)

Oops, sorry, it's fixed now.

Also, due to the changed filename, the line sh -c "unzip -o $srcdir/ETQW-client-${pkgver}-full.x86.run -d $srcdir/ data/*; true" in the pkgbuild should be changed to ........ETQW-client-${pkgver}-linux.x86.run ...... in order to reflect the changed filename.

Slash commented on 2012-08-22 22:43 (UTC)

Thanks, I updated the mirror.

I've come across the same problem that maddog39 described: the FTP server is not allowing anonymous connections, so the link to the client binaries needs updating. To anyone with the same problem, I used this source instead: http://www.altfire.com/main/files/Gaming/Games/Quake%20Wars/ETQW-client-1.5-linux.x86.run

The FTP is working for me now, perhaps there were issues earlier.

The download link is dead, FTP server apparently no longer accepts anonymous connections. Needs to be updated.

Updated to fix the below issues

nvm. i found i had to unzip the .run file myself then move to src directory and comment out the unzip command in the PKGBUILD to get the makepkg work. -jesse

I get an error with any ETQW-client-.1.5-full.x86.run files i use. Something about extra bytes in the file. the PKGBUILD then aborts operations. Any ideas? -jesse

Here I found a Link: ftp://ftp.i3d.net/Games/Enemy%20Territory%20Quake%20Wars/Patches/ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run

Thanks a lot for the link and the advice.

@ajbader: The file is not included because there is no working mirror available to directly link to, sorry. You will have to download it manually (http://www.fileplanet.com/183846/download/) and place it in the same directory as the PKGBUILD before running "makepkg". If I can find a working mirror, I will update the PKGBUILD.

Broken: ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run was not found in the build directory and is not a URL. The source in there (ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run) does not exist!
