Works well with arch 6.6.7 and displaylink. I have just some freeze but its a minor bugs since I just need each time to disconnect et connect my session and all works perfectly ;)
Exactly that i do on a last Endeavour Galileo version : yay evdi-git yay displaylink sudo modprobe evdi sudo systemctl start displaylink.service sudo systemctl enable displaylink.service
its all :)

@severach, on the basis of @endorfina's comments can the
linux-headers
-dependency be deleted?bf_x commented on 2023-11-21 12:02 (UTC)
I had problems with evdi/displaylink on 6.6.1 and 6.6.2 using AMD Ryzen on KDE Plasma/wayland. The displays showed but when I moved the mouse to them, it all crashed.
It's working after I added KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1 to /etc/environment.

linux-headers
shouldn't actually be listed as a dependency.dkms
already does the legwork. I amended this in theevdi
package recently: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/evdi?O=10#comment-916603originalsouth commented on 2023-11-17 08:38 (UTC)
Broken on linux-zen because of headers. Easily fixed by
sed -i -e 's/linux-headers/linux-zen-headers/g' PKGBUILD
. Should probably be fixed @severach?chamblard commented on 2023-11-10 13:15 (UTC)

I have the same issue as stefanmich and spapanik21. Dell D6000 docking station. Downgrading to 1.13.1 resolved it as well.

One thing to keep in mind, DisplayLink only targets the latest kernel available in LTS (Long Term Support) releases of Ubuntu, which in my experience leaves evdi woefully behind since it's not part of the mainline kernel tree. Because of this I have purchased a Thunderbolt 4 dock, which does have drivers by Intel in the mainline kernel tree. My DisplayLink dock has been retired because of this.
I'm no longer watching this AUR package, since I no longer need it.

upgrading from (1.13.1.r0.g85a347a-1 => 1.14.1.r0.g83bb793-1) broke my StarTech USB32HD4K usb graphics card. Downgrading back to 1.13.1 fixed it.

During every system update, I'm getting this error,
ldconfig: /usr/lib/libevdi.so.1 is not a symbolic link
, because the it isn't a symlink to/usr/lib/libevdi.so.1.14.1
