@kame3200 thanks for the info, I'll add this as an optional dependency

Want to put this info out there for anyone who might share this same struggle - if you happen to be having trouble with Evernote not remembering your login credentials after a system restart and keep banging your head against the wall trying to figure out the solution, this is it and it's simple: as @yuyichao so kindly pointed out in the comments for @Malikos's evernote-for-linux-bin package, the application saves your credentials to Gnome keyring, so just install the gnome-keyring package and you are g2g.

Edit: thanks to a good-hearted user, who provided me with the link to the newer version, I should now be able to update this on a pretty regular basis.

@llabusch93 sorry, I don't have any new versions. If someone has a link to anything newer (or a version number with build number) I can update this package but for now I could not find anything. I'm not enrolled in early access in Evernote (I applied but was not "the chosen one").

Any updates here? Preferably one that includes the new task feature of Evernote...

Added proper dependencies and post-install script from the deb. Maybe this will resolve some of the issues.

I'm running KDE Plasma. Not really sure what is wrong. The shortcut points to /opt/Evernote/evernote-client %U but this doesn't work, nor does clicking that file in the file manager and pressing execute. Only launching from a terminal works.

Same shortcut problem, but, a alias don't hurt anyone $ opt / Evernote /./ evernote-client

Hi, i installed under a plasma DE and the everything worked fine. Thanks

Malikos commented on 2021-03-03 17:48 (UTC)

@tornado99 if you could try to investigate the desktop file and debug it would be great. I use gnome and there are no problems so I'd assume you have a different DE? Currently this ships the desktop file "as is" provided by Evernote, I don't modify it but fixes can be introduced once we figure out what is wrong. It could work only with gnome because this early access is targeted at ubuntu users.

Thanks. But doesn't launch for me.

Edit: it does work if I launch from the command line. So something is wrong with the shortcut creation.
