Just got this email, seems this package here will be obsolete very soon…

Dear Evernote user,

As a result of the significant performance improvements we have recently achieved with the web version of Evernote, we will no longer be developing the native Linux client.

You can continue to use Evernote for Linux for the time being, but there are some things to keep in mind:

You will no longer receive security updates or new features
The program may not continue to work in the coming months

Thank you for participating in the Linux beta program. Of course, we are still committed to providing you with as smooth and secure a user experience as possible on Evernote under Linux, which you can enjoy from now on in the form of Evernote Web.

Best regards,

Your Evernote Team

TLDR: New deb is available at: https://cdn1.evernote.com/boron/linux/builds/Evernote-Beta-10.58.8-linux-ddl-beta-4175-bf1b4b33d6.deb

--

Steps:

1) Grab version string from latest HomeBrew cask, e.g., https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/blob/6d70089074c978afd1c6fbcc82e0662680653e01/Casks/e/evernote.rb#L33 right now shows version "10.58.8,4175,bf1b4b33d6"

2) Replace the three csv values in: https://cdn1.evernote.com/boron/linux/builds/Evernote-Beta-{first}-linux-ddl-beta-{second}-{third}.deb

Hello @csj,

You mentioned earlier, "I'll check the MacOS brew rb file to see if a newer deb is available and update it today". Does this mean you get the deb file from the MacOS version? Could you explain how this packaging works? Or do you just look for a newer version generally and then find and download the deb file from somewhere else? If that's the case, where do you usually get it from?

Thanks for clearing this up. I use Evernote a lot, but it's frustrating that the in-app update doesn't work. As I'm not part of the beta, the only way for me to get a newer version is from here...

csj commented on 2023-02-07 16:24 (UTC)

because the "check for updates" not work at all. in this case, I don't regularly check if there is any new versions available in other OS.

I'll check MacOS brew rb file to see if any newer deb avaialbe and update it today

Hey, any updates here? For some reason, I cannot use the check for updates menu in the app, as it does just nothing on click... I already had the > 10.50 version installed, but switched the devices now, and I am stuck with this version...

csj commented on 2022-07-26 16:11 (UTC)

updated for 10.41.5

csj commented on 2022-07-11 09:58 (UTC)

Any updates? The recurring task feature is pretty neat, but not available in the current version here...
