@jvybihal Sadly yes, I configured them correctly. :) I do not know it is relevant or not but I have some errors on startup. Btw, I am on wayland.

@system7 maybe stupid question, but have you configured the plugin? In the section where you activate it, you need to check box
Hide on close
that you want to it to hide to tray.system7 commented on 2024-03-26 11:08 (UTC)
@jvybihal Thank you for your time! I have just tried to reinstall the whole Evolution and this package. Try to install the
evolution-on
pkg instead ofevolution-on-git
. Re-checking theEvolution On
in the plugin list. I deleted the whole~/.cache
dir.The only thing I did not try the clean install. (W/o my Evolution settings. But I would skip this option now.)
Actually, before the GNOME upgrade it simply just worked. Currently, the program immediately closing if I click on X button even if I use
alt + f4

@system7: I don't use GNOME, but I went ahead and tested it anyway. It works. I have built it, enabled in evolution plugin list and added system tray to Gnome Shell. It's there and it works the same way as it works in my Xfce4. Can you please try clean build in chroot?

On GNOME 46 it stops to working. ☹️

The package is not defunct, it builds and I use it daily with zero issues.

I use this version without appindicator. It works fine, so I might as well adopt it.

Thanks @springer, I updated the package to use that fork.
springer commented on 2019-01-23 21:07 (UTC)
This fork here works for me with the current evolution 3.30.4: https://github.com/zsugabubus/evolution-on
joasis commented on 2018-11-14 02:42 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on Evolution 3.30.2. It makes Evolution run in background when closed yet no new mail notifications are displayed. Closing produces a lot of gjs errors (Nov 14 03:40:03 joasis gjs[1401]: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed).
