This project will be the official package of Exodus and will be maintained by @GutenYe that works for Exodus as well

Can I be a co-maintener?

Updating this package to the lastest version of Exodus: 19.5.10 https://gist.github.com/phouverneyuff/52d535c115761e21a5cfb49fb09797c4

@tuxayo that's a really good point, thanks for bringing that up. I've updated the licenses field and provided a text file containing the terms of use, this seems to be the norm with most other nonfree AUR packages.

hi :) Quick note about the license. From what I understand the "Copyright" statement doesn't mean non-libre/proprietary. Because in even libre/open source software, someone owns the copyright.

So to leave ambiguity you could just write "non-libre" or "proprietary" Here is the source of the fact that it's not libre to double check: https://support.exodus.io/article/89-is-exodus-open-source

@Fubwubs I just pushed a (temporary) fix that takes care of the issue, so feel free to update and remove /opt/glibc-2.27

marceloneil commented on 2018-08-15 21:01 (UTC)

@Fubwubs you should be good to go, although you might want to delete /opt/glibc-2.27 as it won't be necessary anymore

@marceloneil Thanks for the fix. I also got the seg fault, and that fixed it. Will I need to do something to remove the patch when exodus updates to support glibc 2.28?

thanks for the hint

@jasondaigo yes, this is a known issue related to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/59550. If you want exodus to run, you either need to downgrade glibc from 2.28 to 2.27 like so:

# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/glibc-2.27-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

Or without downgrading

# Extract glibc 2.27-3
mkdir /opt/glibc-2.27
bsdtar xf /var/cache/pacman/pkg/glibc-2.27-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz --cd /opt/glibc-2.27

# Patch the exodus binary to point to glibc-2.27
pacman -S patchelf
patchelf --set-interpreter /opt/glibc-2.27/usr/lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 \
    --set-rpath \$ORIGIN:\$ORIGIN/lib/:/opt/glibc-2.27/usr/lib/ \
    /opt/exodus/Exodus
