At the moment, installation is broken, because of Sourceforge troubles. Please download the VGM package from this location, if compilation fails: https://fairroot.gsi.de/downloads/vgm_4-2.tar.gz Copy the file into the transport directory of Fairsoft and unpack it there. After this manual step rerun the configure.sh script which will go on with the installation of vgm

I attempted to patch this thing into a shape that would allow installation following the 'arch way', but that didn't work out and didn't seem maintainable. It may be that one or more of the needed software packages cannot be downloaded. Sometimes sourceforge is in 'disaster recovery mode'. Then it is best to wait a bit or to download the file yourself and place it in the /opt/fairsoft/current/src/FairSoft/[basics|generators|transport] directory.
