I could not reproduce your issue on my machines, but it sounds to me as if it could be an OpenGL-related problem. I am not sure which package could help here.

The main source of problems is that the binary ships with its own (partially older) libraries that should be preferably used.

On one of my machines I had the problem that the client immediately segfaulted. I could fix it on that machine by setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH empty (so it prioritizes the shipped libs), so basically running:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH= FastX3

Maybe you try that first?

I have also tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the library dir shipped with FastX3 (installed in /opt/FastX3/lib), but that caused another segfault (at least in my case). Maybe you also want to try that, nevertheless.

Thank you for the package. But I suspect there might be some missing dependency because when I connect to my work machine I get countless rendering artifacts that make most of the screen unintelligible. I'm still trying to debug this by comparing this install to another machine where I've had no problems. But maybe someone else has had a similar problem and already found a solution? fingers crossed
