Gnome 3.22 changes the default backend to Wayland but fcitx does not fully support wayland yet. Switch to "Gnome on xorg" if fcitx-sogou does not work.

Unable to start? Try rm -rf ~/.sogouinput

Still not working? Try rm -rf ~/.sogouinput ~/.config/SogouPY* and re-login.

@bianjp Thanks, I cleaned fcitx, Sogou*, sogou* in ~/.config, then relogined. It works fine for me now

bianjp commented on 2016-09-18 17:55 (UTC)

@zhenbo 1. Make sure you've enabled fcitx according to https://github.com/bianjp/aur-fcitx-sogoupinyin. 2. Try updating your system, and reinstalling this package (remove related config directories in ~/.config before reinstalling). Don't forget to relogin or reboot after reinstalling. 3. If it still does not work, post a question in https://bbs.archlinux.org/ or https://bbs.archlinuxcn.org/.

This package fails on my computer these days. Fcitx-sogou would start successfully, but when I switched to sogou, there were no choices for me. Wait for about 1 secound, and the input dialog would disappear

@bianjp: It's certainly not the meaning of "Upstream URL", in my opinion. Put your comments and notes in an .install file, and echo those messages to the user with "post_install/post_upgrade" might be a better idea. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD#install

bianjp commented on 2016-06-13 10:30 (UTC)

@xgdgsc It used to be. I changed it to my github repo url since: 1. users can read README in github repo for the package's usage. AUR does not support README or similar features. 2. it'll be more easy for users to contribute (issue, code) to this package The README contains a link to "http://pinyin.sogou.com/linux/", and users should be able to find it. I'm not quit sure whether it's right to do this. Please let me know your thoughts.
