@dllud @quequotion @andybutterworth @delueks: Thanks for the reports, I've updated the package with the suggested CXXFLAGS changes. It seems to work now.

dllud commented on 2017-06-20 10:06 (UTC)

Besides what was mentioned by quequotion bellow, I also had to append "-fPIC" to CXXFLAGS in order to get a successful build.

quequotion commented on 2017-05-20 15:01 (UTC) (edited on 2017-05-20 15:20 (UTC) by quequotion)

There's a workaround! https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=1220980&action=diff Append "-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks -std=gnu++98" to CXXFLAGS. More redhat bugs: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1393019 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1336981 The problem seems to be upstream, but it is unclear if or when festival will be updated.

This also gives me a segfault - the same as @delueks. Happy to help diagnose.

Hello, This doesn't work for me, it segfaults on "(SayText anytext)". Here is a backtrace: Core was generated by `festival'. Hi xavier83, Thanks for the suggestion! I added the Pulseaudio patch with some modifications, but did not test it extensively - so use at your own risk.

xavier83 commented on 2016-03-03 11:49 (UTC)

Hi, Can you include the following patch too? It includes support for pulseaudio. Thanks https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471047

I took over this page during the move to the new AUR.

This package appears to both conflict and provide "festival-english". Please add these entries to the PKGBUILD.
