I think using an .install script to cleanup on package uninstall would be a better option, as with how tmpfiles work now, I don't think using it to automatically clean up when a package is uninstalled is feasible.

Would it help to change the D config to d instead?

The tmpfiles config for this package ends up making /var/lib/findpkg get cleared out on every boot.
