@MysteryUserOP, sorry I forgot to update the version for the 68.11 build. The issue is now fixed in the PKGBUILD

I fixed my issue. I changed pkgver in PKGBUILD to 68.11.0. That fixed both of my issues. It downloaded 68.11.0 ESR and the checksums passed successfully.

Hello. I am having two issues when updating.

  1. I seem to be downloading 68.10, when the updated version is 68.11.0. In the PKGBUILD for the older, 68.x, it has the version as pkgver=68.10.0. I am doing this via the command line using makepkg export FIREFOX_ESR_BIN_PREFER_OLDER=true

  2. Then I am getting a "Failed" message when trying to do the update.

@runaz Thank you for updating quickly! I will give that that commandline command a try when updating.

runaz commented on 2020-07-28 17:49 (UTC)

@MysteryUserOP, thank you for letting me know about the update. If you would like to use the 68.x branch you can just enter "export FIREFOX_ESR_BIN_PREFER_OLDER=true" in you commandline before installing this package. If you need any help, just write it in the comments.

@tilt @all, you can now use "export FIREFOX_ESR_BIN_PREFER_OLDER=true" on the command line to activate the switch for the Firefox-ESR v68.x update channel. Let me know if you experience any issues with this switch.

Hi @runaz, I'd really appreciate a switch to install v68.10: I'd like to stick with v68 till its very end (august-september).

Thanks in advance! :) T.

The current release of Firefox-ESR is a major update from version 68.9 to 78.0. Does anyone require/want the release version 68.10? Then I will need to add a switch again.

@Gharial this is the binary version of firefox-esr.

Hey!! Could you use enable-alsa flag in your build? Alsa is supported by default in stable builds as of version 75.0.
