The latest update for 57.0b14-3 includes the "upstream" openSUSE patch set updates which now applies cleanly against 57.0b14. This fixes the settings not loading bug reported by @francoism90, and likely other bugs yet undiscovered. Please update and enjoy :)

Sorry to hear that @zpalmtree, I've added it to makedepends. Don't clear your build directory yet, you should still be able to package by installing zip and then running `makepkg --repackage`.

zpalmtree commented on 2017-11-05 01:03

Just failed compilation at 109 minutes in because zip wasn't installed, I guess it needs to be added to the dependencies.

@llzette compiled FF beta today (, preferences are being saved. There must be something wrong with the patches or build parameters. Hope a solution can be found. :)

@francoism90, actually it's not just you. But, I'm fairly certain your changes are saved, the preferences menu simple isn't loading them properly and won't display anything but the default. I have no clue why this is, but for me personally it's little more than an aesthetic detail I'm just going to have to live with.

francoism90 commented on 2017-10-30 13:45

@Izzette: Thanks will try to add the patches and see what happens. :)

On weird bug: it doensn't save my preferences, even when creating a new profile.
Is it only me?

@francoism90, I'm sorry, but I think you're going to be waiting for the FF 58 beta for CSD enhancements. If you want to email me shoot me a diff for the PKGBUILD, I'll try it out and seriously consider merging it in. But for now I'm going to wait until FF mainline catches up.

francoism90 commented on 2017-10-29 19:46

Thanks! Complied without any issues.
Hope the new CSD patch will be included soon, this would also make FF look better on KDE if I'm not mistaking. :)

@mareex and anyone else needing localization, I hope these packages solve your issue You'll want to install firefox-beta-i18n-<your-locale-here> or firefox-beta-i18n-all. Let me know if you have any issues afterwards.

No. As far as I see one needs an xpi file. I have my locale set to de but Firefox is in english. The standard arch firefox-i18n-* package does this.
There could be a language switch in the PKGBUILD for the correct xpi file to download. Mozilla provides xpi files for languages for Firefox beta. I could modify the PGKBUILD and test whether it works.
