I had to add these lines at the end of PKGBUILD :

    cd /$pkgdir
    rm .MTREE
    rm .BUILDINFO
    rm .PKGINFO

Without these lines, I got these errors :

 ==> Recherche des erreurs d’empaquetage…
 ==> ERREUR : Fichier commençant par un point trouvé à la racine du paquet « /tmp/yaourt-tmp-chris/aur-firefox-kde-opensuse-bin/pkg/firefox-kde-opensuse-bin/.BUILDINFO ».

 ==> ERREUR : Makepkg n'a pas pu construire firefox-kde-opensuse-bin.

@barronj

That happens from time to time to a few people. You may get the key from

https://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=0x7448C890582975CD

Hint: If you want to search for the key on pgp.mit.edu it is necessary to add a 0x to the front

I appreciate the help from the folks who posted a reminder regarding the command to pull the key in.

But that command returns a "Server indicated a failure" error when I use it in the terminal.

And, if I search for the key directly at the web interface located at https://pgp.mit.edu/ it tells me that no results found.

I can't be the only one having this problem, can I?

I don't think this belongs to your -bin package. Yesterday I build FF-kde from the https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/firefox-kde-opensuse/ package and that one crashes too. I tried it both on my Laptop and Desktop with the same results. Both systems are up2date.

Unfortunately all that I get from console is jnko@alaska ~> firefox ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 19734 ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...

...and that "Mozilla Crash Reporter We're sorry" window.

@jnko

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I have difficulties compiling the package myself and it takes me quite a while for each update (not counting the compile time itself which is huuuge too).

About this package, well, if you try to start firefox via terminal you might get an error which is more verbose.

For me this package does not work. All I get is the default Mozilla crash handler window without any hint whats going on. I also tried to start with a clean profile.

(BTW: The package firefox-kde-opensuse even does not compile and fails while patching)

Any advice?

@Mel

I have triggered a rebuild. However, as you probably know, it will take some time. I'm going to update the pkgrel when the build is done.

Since ffmpeg 4.0 is now in extra, could you please rebuild? Some websites can't play video anymore with source unknown error.
