Thanks for shipping the SLURL fix! Following up on the deps:

  • firestorm.launcher still has exec ./firestorm $*, which breaks an argument with spaces in it. "$@" fixes that.

  • gstreamer as the video optdepend is a trap. Core gstreamer satisfies it, but parcel media needs gst-plugins-good (souphttpsrc, qtdemux). Without it you get a blank grey media face and nothing in the log. I'd name gst-plugins-good instead.

  • lib32-gst-plugins-good isn't used for voice. Nothing in SLVoice or the vivox libs links or loads gst, and media is 64-bit only.

  • Voice needs lib32-libidn11 (SLVoice wants libidn.so.11, lib32-libidn only has .so.12). lib32-libsndfile isn't needed; lib32/ bundles it.

  • Declared but never linked: vlc, gtk2, sdl, openal, apr-util, dbus-glib, libbsd, libjpeg-turbo, libpng, libxss, libxml2, libidn, zlib (openal, apr-util and SDL2 are bundled in lib/). Linked but not declared, mostly by CEF: at-spi2-core, cairo, pango, glib2, dbus, expat, fontconfig, libcups, nspr, systemd-libs, util-linux-libs, libxcb, libxcomposite, libxdamage, libxext, libxfixes, libxkbcommon, libxrandr. alsa-lib is hard-linked, not optional.

Found by walking DT_NEEDED over everything in /usr/lib/firestorm. Happy to share the details.

SLURLs and landmarks clicked in a browser don't work with this package, and I think it's just the .desktop file.

firestorm.desktop has no MimeType line and no %u on Exec, so nothing ever gets registered as the handler for secondlife: URLs, and even if something were, the URL wouldn't be passed through to the viewer.

These two lines fixed it here:

Exec=/usr/bin/firestorm %u
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/secondlife;

After a rebuild:

$ xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/secondlife
firestorm.desktop

and clicking a maps.secondlife.com link in a browser now opens the viewer at the right region instead of doing nothing.

Small related thing while you're in there: firestorm.launcher uses exec ./firestorm $* , which will word-split a SLURL containing spaces. "$@" handles it properly.

Also, the deps on this are a mess. I've done a lot of work cleaning them up if anyone is interested. Thanks for picking up the package, btw!

I think you might want to update the srcinfo to match the pkginfo. Right now the sources show the wrong URL. You can do this easily via "makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO".

Also FYI: I've taken over maintaining of firestorm-git which is up to date now, too. It builds from source and builds the OS version. I made it compatible with firestorm-bin so you can have both installed and running at the same time (it uses $HOME/.firestorm_x64-os instead of $HOME/.firestorm_x64). :)

My bad. Thought pkgrel was incremented everytime there was an update. I’ll fix it.

Is there a reason you did use pkgrel?
Please correct me if I'm wrong but as the pkgver changes with each release I think pkgrel should stay at 1 and only increase if the same version needs to be updated (some packaging issues fixed).

Ive just yoinked it apparently in the mean time ive pushed 7.2.3-80036 additionally im using pkgrel so yay should pull it automagicaly with a -Syu

If you want me to give it to one of you LMK Ive got Radegast-NG aswell so firestorm isnt that much extra.
