@corvus_192 (~The comment talks about the menu entry in the launcher. On my system the program doesn't even launch, because of permission errors. These are two different issues.~)
Edit: Oh I thought you were pointing to a different comment, but it did not scroll down. Never mind, sorry for confusion. I will change the rights myself then. Thank you for pointing to it.

I just installed this on with
yay -S flashpoint-bin
. But trying to start gives me permission error. I have to Ctrl-c to stop it, as it hangs.perseo commented on 2024-07-11 23:25 (UTC)
If the application doesn't appear on the app launcher after the installation process, you could create your own
flashpoint.desktop
file at~/.local/share/applications/
. Here I leave an example file that has worked for me, including an icon that probably matches your system:zxp19821005 commented on 2024-07-08 04:04 (UTC)
@nsood Thanks for your feedback, I've added
p7zip
as makedepends.nsood commented on 2024-07-07 21:47 (UTC)
Hi! Could p7zip be added as a build-time dependency? Seems like
7zr
is required to extract something during the build processcorvus_192 commented on 2024-05-25 12:18 (UTC)
Using sudo inside the
package
step is not needed, because it only affects the$pkgbuild
directory, which is not the real/opt

To add to @trliy s comment, make sure to change the permissions of the directory RECURSIVELY. This command should work: sudo chown -R $USER /opt/flashpoint
trliy commented on 2023-12-20 21:46 (UTC)
Make sure after installing this package that you run the command "flashpoint" without sudo/root permissions. You can do this if flashpoint does not show up in your app launcher/apps.
Side note: If running flashpoint gives you something like /opt/flashpoint/xxx is denied, you have to run your file manager as sudo then nagivate to the /opt/flashpoint folder and change all the READ & WRITE permissions to your username instead of root. You could also run "sudo flashpoint", but I have not tried this.
