▎ package() is missing the portal/D-Bus install lines that upstream's own PKGBUILD carries (see thisisgm/flea repo root PKGBUILD, package() function). Without them, xdg-desktop-portal/portals/flea.portal never lands on disk, so flea --default/flea --picker print "no portal backend is installed" and skip the file chooser step even on 0.1.6. Missing lines:

▎ install -Dm755 tools/flea-portal "$pkgdir/usr/lib/flea/flea-portal"

▎ install -Dm644 packaging/flea.portal -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/xdg-desktop-portal/portals"

▎ install -Dm644 packaging/org.freedesktop.impl.portal.desktop.flea.service -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/dbus-1/services"

▎ install -Dm755 tools/flea-filemanager1 "$pkgdir/usr/lib/flea/flea-filemanager1"

▎ install -Dm644 packaging/com.thisisgm.flea.FileManager1.service -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/dbus-1/services"

▎ Also needs python-gobject added to depends — those two tools are Python/GObject-based.
